I have had the pleasure of eating at Commando Restaurant in Mellieha (Malta) on three different occasions, and I have been super impressed every single time!
The more I eat out the pickier I get, but this one never dissapoints. Trust me!
Owned and operated by Chef Damian Ciappara, Commando is found in the charming village of Mellieha. Mellieha is a small village in the North of Malta well known for its beautiful sandy beaches and breathtaking views. Also a cosy wine bar, ideal for cold winter nights, Commando is housed within a more than 300 year old stone building.

What makes Chef Damian exceptional is the fact that he has been trained abroad under Michelin starred chefs. He, and his team, are very passionate and not scared to experiment. All the great chefs are willing to try something new and push the boundaries in what they know. By working closely with local producers, Commando chefs, ensure that everything is seasonal and of top quality.
We can assure you that at Commando you will feel right at home. The staff welcome you as if you are in their own home. Even though it is a bit of a formal restaurant, it is neither stiff or rigid. The vibe is great.
As you enter the restaurant you are welcomed by a magnificent setting, a pretty blend between antique stones and all the luxuries of modernity. Every time I went I tried different dishes. There is so much I like, it is always so hard to choose. Every plate was well prepared with so much attention to detail. Everything is so tasty, it will surely overwhelm you mouth.
The menu offer a great selection of mouthwatering starter. I had the beef and mushroom pasta while Sebastian ordered the cauliflower soup with hints of truffle. They were exquisite.
As mains we both ordered the same thing, not the first time. We opted for tender beef medallions served with a sauce and superb mash potatoes and roast. All this was followed by a chocolate and orange mousse. Simply amazing.
All the dishes are fresh and hand the warmth of home- made food. The chefs really do care in selecting the finest ingredients. Commando also caters for the wine lovers out there, they bring the best wines on the market.
