The city of Seville, capital of Spain’s Andalusia region, is home to some of the most amazing and exciting restaurants in the country. It simply has it all. It is easy to find excellent restaurants serving home -style recipes but Seville is not only about the traditional Spanish food. Seville has plenty of fantastic tabernas and tapas places throughout but the following is my favourite. Located on the end of Bridge Isabel 2, Maria Trifulca, is named after the beach that was once found on the Guadalquivir river. This is the kind of restaurant that makes everyone wish they are regulars, coming in for lunch or dinner once a week. It is not easy to score a restaurant at Maria Trifulca as booking in highly recommended in advance. However, we were lucky as we managed to get a table on the rooftop terrace, overlooking the river. Bingo! We were in…

We just arrived back home from our holiday in Bali, Indonesia, and we are already counting down the days until we go back. We absolutely loved every minute of it! Bali is one of the most popular destinations in Indonesia and it is perfectly easy to understand why. It has been popular with tourists since the 1980’s. It’s heaven for surfers, dancers, musicians, yoga enthusiasts, foodies and spiritual people alike. Bali is stunning, the beaches are perfect for sunbathing and surfing, the hiking is perfect, the locals are super friendly and genuinely helpful, and most importantly its not expensive. We never experienced a place quite like Bali. The Balinese are the most serene and kindest people I’ve ever met. You recognize the humanity looking in their eyes and recognize their content with life through their smiles. The strong sense of community can be easily felt, even towards strangers. Living amongst people who…
Although it sits not far from some of the best restaurants in Valletta, Sciacca Grill has never needed to worry about the competition. It is by far one of the best steakhouses on the rock. You can try to fight us on this, or you can just go to this restaurant and try it for yourself. Sciacca Grill will feel very familiar.Maybe that’s why we’ve enjoyed our meals here so much. Named after the Sicilian Village that inspired its creation, Sciacca Grill are a unique steak and Grill restaurants that both go beyond any of your expectations. I have been to Sciacca several times and I love it for the fact that it consistent in quality and service. Another reason why we keep returning is because of the no fixed menu concept. The people behind this successful restaurant do not believe in fixed menus. In fact when you arrive and are shown…
During our trip in Japan we visited the harbour city of Yokohama. Since the time its port was opened, Yokohama has been acquiring new cultures and information from different countries and introducing to Japan a whole new world, from food to a wide range of cultures. This makes Yokohama as the birthplace of Japan’s modern culture. After a week in Tokyo, we hopped on the train and headed to south for Yokohama. And despite not having any plans of what to do here, we ended up staying a whole afternoon here. We also managed to find a lovely restaurant where we had dinner. Yokohama, is around twenty minutes train ride of central Tokyo but yet extremely different. It has an energetic vibe, rich history and has a luxurious feel to it. The total population of Yokohama is 3.7 million persons, making the city the second largest after Tokyo. A number of…
I know it has been some time since I last published a blog post about our travelling, but we were too busy planning our big holiday for 2017. And now that it is over, unfortunately, we want to let you know all about it. What makes Japan so unique? As some of you already know we have been to Japan. It was our first time in Japan, so we kind of went a little crazy with the photos, especially when we first landed in Tokyo. I can’t say that Japan has been on our bucket list for a long time, but we fell head over heels in love with this fascinating country. And how can you not. With its long history, rich culture, quirky cities and extraordinary cuisine on offer everywhere you turn, it’s hard not to like it. Japan is a wonderful place. It’s a country of contradictions. The…
It is time for us to share our Guze’ Bistro experience with you. We have been to Guze’ Bistro a number of times but funnily enough we never wrote about it before. It’s too good not to share. Located in the historical city of Valletta, Guze’ Bistro opened in 2011 after a lengthy refurbishment. Being a 16th century building, retaining all of the original features was not an easy task. But they did a marvellous job, the setting is breathtakingly beautiful. Guze’ Bistro serves a number of Mediterranean inspired dishes, from elaborate pasta to mouthwatering meat. The service and quality of the food are always top- notch. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion visit Guze’ Bistro and get ready to indulge in some delicious food. Every item on the menu is well thought of and the combination of flavors is like an explosion of goodness in your…
Lunching is Valletta is one of my favourite things to do on a Sunday. Our beautiful capital city is packed with fantastic restaurants, it’s really hard to go wrong. One of the latest restaurants I tried in Valletta is L’ Artiglio. This beautifully decorated restaurant is fairly new to the choice of restaurants in the city and is rapidly building a reputation for it’s spectacular dishes and ever- changing menu. I was impressed when I learnt that the menu changes everyday in order to use the freshest ingredients, reflecting Malta’s incredible fresh produce all year round. L’ Artiglio is part of the chic hotel called La Falconeria and is run by the young but super talented Head Chef Janine Camilleri. It is an exclusive venue that can be appreciated, day and night. And while it is open for breakfast to the hotel guests, the general public can enjoy lunch and dinner.…
The number of scrumptious restaurants in Valletta is endless. Malta’s capital has so many good restaurants that will have you coming back for more. I regularly dine out in Valletta and one of the restaurants I keep returning to is Aaron’s Kitchen. We have been there several times and we were never dissapointed. Really at the heart of Valletta, a few steps away from the old Parliament, Aaron’s Kitchen offers all those who visit a true Mediterranean feast. Food on offer includes a variety of sea creatures, seasonal vegetables as well as the local and traditional Maltese favourite, rabbit served in different variations. Aaron’s offers a fresh dining concept in a relaxed environment with superb food and a vast selection of wines. A quaint little place to enjoy with good company. The service is always efficient and the food is always wonderful, definitely a great value for money. I would…
Last Thursday, I found myself at University because of a work related event. It has been a while since I was there, so much has changed! During my lunch break I decided to go out and look for something to eat. I was starving and on my way to buy a pizza slice I came across The Pulled Meat Company. I heard a lot about their food but never managed to try it. After checking the menu I decided to give it a go. The Pulled Meat is a very new concept in Malta but it has surely gone down well with locals. The Pulled Meat Company serves some of the best slow cooked meat on the island. Throughout a very short period of time, they proved they know what it takes to slow- cook meat and turn it into succulent dishes. A few months ago they closed the doors in…
